Risk Management

APU Limited are the Asset Protection and Accident Investigation subsidiary of AIS Plc, and have direct responsibility for Accident Exchange’s vehicle fleet, with an overall value in excess of £50 million. One of the primary tasks of the APU team is in ensuring that the customer is not abusing the rental vehicle nor that they are utilised in fraud or crime – something prevalent in their industry sector.

To counter this, APU have developed sophisticated driver behaviour monitoring systems using data derived from the telematic units installed in these vehicles. With this system behaviours such as harsh driving, excessive hours of use and operation in areas of high risk are monitored, collated, measured and then displayed as a dashboard view, instantly highlighting vehicles of concern.

Theft monitoring and asset recovery is also a critical part of the team’s function. Just by utilising the power of this element of the solution, APU have been responsible for over £4.5million in recovered vehicle assets with the team tracking and recovering vehicles from as far away as Poland, Greece, Italy and other parts of Europe.
