Statement Taking

Our interviewers are trained and highly skilled in obtaining as much information as possible during statements, without leading the witness and whilst recording their evidence with complete accuracy.

Our team is trained to obtain statements from claimants, defendants, witnesses and passengers in order to help build evidence.

These statements cover areas such as liability, quantum and indemnity and, where appropriate, motor fraud.

Where client statements are required, we compile a detailed statement to qualify liability to a particular claim. Depending on the nature of the case and the brief provided by the client, it may also be necessary for our interviewer to obtain information from the client regarding the wider nature of the case and the claim in question.

Taking comprehensive witness statements can be time-consuming, as the statement-taker must question each witness about minute details in order to compile the most thorough evidence possible to support the case, but the APU team is well-versed in achieving this in a professional, courteous and tactful manner.

Because our investigators are mainly ex-Police Officers, they have decades of experience in assessing people, putting them at their ease and therefore extracting lengthy and detailed statements, whether for use in civil or criminal proceedings.
